Kristina Huckstep, LCSW
(She/Her)
About Me
Hello! My name is Kristina. I'm an EMDR certified clinician and LCSW licensed in both Alaska and Florida. I currently offer telehealth services in which I provide EMDR intensive therapy. Along with being a therapist, I am a Veteran/law enforcement officer's (LEO) spouse and mother to two young children, who understands the stress involved in high risk careers/shift changes etc. and the impact this can have on the service member/LEO's family life. I understand, as a spouse, the concerns first responders/military have with seeking mental health therapy and the impacts it can place on their profession. I only accept self pay and not insurance so LEO's and military can get the help they need without having to report mental health concerns through their chain of command and/or insurance company through their employers. I have found that, as humans, we all experience stress with need for additional support. At times when life happens, the methods we have used to get through life no longer work: it can be a struggle to find new solutions that are tailored to you, make the changes, and adapt. We often have unconscious and conscious beliefs that have fueled our thoughts and stories which keep us stuck. During challenging times whether in relationships, balancing work/family life, motivation to reach goals or complete daily tasks, life can become complicated and tough. We can get stuck: "don't chase a failed technique". My goal as a therapist is to meet you on your journey of life and assist you in removing some roadblocks that may be impacting your daily living while highlighting the things you're already doing well. At times, we focus on the overshadowing problems of life and lose sight of our successes. EMDR can realign your sites on target, to assist with utilizing your strengths/resources to accomplish your goals. In less than one week, EMDR intensive therapy can deliver the same results as a full year of weekly therapy sessions. So, what is the benefit for EMDR therapy intensives? It is an investment in your health. You receive uninterrupted full-day or half-day sessions to address the source impacting your symptoms with quicker symptom relief than typical talk therapy. This method can cut out dozens of weekly therapy sessions, and as everyone knows, "time is money", so intensive therapy is a an efficient method to processing problems, delving deeper with fewer interruptions, thus minimizing the number of sessions for faster results. I want to provide you the best option for your investment with a high quality solution for your symptom relief. Please reach out with any questions, or to schedule a free 20 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
