About Me
As a “third culture kid” who grew up outside the U. S., I am fascinated by how our varied intersecting identities impact our psyche, sense of self, belonging, and connection to the world. As an art psychotherapist and counselor of color, I acknowledge the very real impact that our privileged and marginalized identities have on our lives and mental health. I believe that you are the expert of your own lived experience. To tailor the session to you, I utilize an integrative approach that includes art therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and attachment theory through a neurobiological framework, exploring how our brain development impacts who we are, how we make sense of the world, and how we relate to others in both past and present. I believe in working collaboratively with you and meeting you where you are, without judgment or bias. While safety may not always be possible due to systemic racism, ableism, inequity and other societal oppressions that impacts us generationally and in the present, I aim to create safer spaces for folks to be seen, heard, and understood, even if only for a moment. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I specialize in working with BIPOC or folks from immigrant backgrounds, international students, and fellow “third culture kids.” I welcome the opportunity to walk with you as you learn to live your version of the “good life” in alignment with your values and aspirations.
