About Me

www.laralong.com Former athlete, tech worker, and evangelical. Now simply on the journey of engaging our full humanity and aliveness in the community of others. I've experienced trauma that I didn't call trauma, and work with others who are learning and engaging trauma but not being defined by it. I utilize healing partners in nature and my equine friends as an equine assisted psychotherapist and eco therapist. I look together at things that are difficult in order to make "what's mentionable, manageable" in the words of Fred Rogers. We work to find ourselves within and without and what's happening in between us. I love to play and experience the wisdom of our bodies and what it holds. I'm curious and compassionate, and can also be direct and challenging as needed. I utilize EMDR as one of my trauma tools, including equine-connected EMDR and work from an attachment, interpersonal neurobiological frame.
