Dr. Laura E. C. Langes, PsyD

(She/Her/Hers)

About Me

I provide culturally-competent individual and family therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. I am particularly passionate about utilizing play, sand tray, and EMDR therapies to treat youth with developmental/attachment trauma. I have advanced training/experience treating dissociative disorders/DID using Ego State/IFS and EMDR therapies. In addition to being certified in EMDR therapy, I hold certifications in child and adolescent trauma treatment and grief counseling. My therapeutic approach is warm, empathic, accepting, and honest. I strive to understand my clients within their social, developmental, and cultural contexts to individualize treatment, build on strengths, and promote positive identity development. Consulting with other providers and advocating for my clients' needs/rights are staples of my practice.

Education & Experience

I received my undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University and my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (Child & Adolescent Track). I have worked in a variety of treatment settings including community mental health centers, a specialized foster care agency, public and therapeutic day schools, and a psychiatric inpatient hospital. I also provide trauma-informed schools trainings and school staff consultations.
