About Me
I am a registered psychotherapist working in Toronto, Canada. Psychotherapy is a second career for me and my practice is informed by years of teaching and training actors and health care professionals in the art of "being with" both self and other. I strive to meet the specific needs of individuals and couples through deep listening and witnessing. I have been on a life long therapeutic journey to address my own lived experience of trauma and continually work to be an ally to LGBTQ2+ and BIPOC folx.
Education & Experience
I have a diverse trauma and attachment focused practice. My interest in somatic relational work comes directly from years of work in the theatre and arts where I trained in multiple somatic practices. I have a master's in theatre and completed most of a Phd where dissertation work was focused on embodied practice. As a teacher, I found my students were increasingly shut down, anxious and demonstrating symptoms of trauma which led me to leave academia to pursue training in psychotherapy. I am psychodynamically trained through masters level training in integrative existential psychotherapy and pull from multiple modalities to meet the unique needs of individual clients. I am EMDRIA certified and have taken multiple trauma informed trainings that include DBR, IFS, Ego State, as well as EFT for couples, CBT, DBT and IPT.
