Laura Moon, LPC, NCC, CTP
About Me
I have extensive experience working with individuals of different age ranges, as well as couples and families. I have treated those in outpatient, community, and home settings and often worked with individuals post psychiatric hospitalization. My specialty areas include, but are not limited to: trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relational issues. I am passionate about creating a safe space where you can be open and vulnerable. Your healing and growth occur through meeting you where you are with empathy, active listening, and unconditional positive regard. It would be a privilege to accompany you on your counseling journey.
Education & Experience
I primarily utilize a Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic approach to therapy. Through being a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) and a trained EMDR practitioner, I am able to advocate for clients through a trauma-informed lens. I believe cognitions influence behavior and early childhood events can shape how one views themselves, others, and the world. This results in learned patterns of thinking and behavior that can be brought to awareness with counseling. I am certified to work with couples as a SYMBIS and Gottman Level 1 clinician by focusing on communication skills while restoring friendship and trust in the relationship.
