About Me

Lia has directed a variety of drug and alcohol programs throughout the Philadelphia and South Florida Regions which encompass diverse populations including members of the LGBTQ+ community, mothers with children, chronically homeless men and women, adults with co-occurring mental health disorders, diversion programs for criminal justice involved men and formerly incarcerated men and women. Lia has worked with clients along the entire continuum of care including outpatient, halfway, residential and inpatient settings. Lia's proudest achievement thus far in her career was the development and opening of the first residential drug and alcohol program exclusively for transgender and non-binary individuals in the country.

Education & Experience

Lia has a Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College and a Bachelor’s of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is trained in CBT, Psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing and EMDR.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

Lia volunteers locally at a variety of non-profit agencies that serve underserved populations. She is a former board member and grant writer for a grassroots non-profit organization designed to assist women with community re-integration after incarceration through individual counseling and job training.
