About Me

I am honored to be a therapist and have respect for all of my clients. The therapeutic relationship is a key component to successful treatment. I enjoy my time with clients and am very interactive in my approach. I believe in all that is possible and view my role as a the holder of hope. It is my philosophy that clients come to their current patterns of thinking, emotions and behaviors as a result of experiences in the past. People develop behaviors as a way to survive and cope. These patterns may no longer be helpful and could be holding individuals back from thriving in the ways they wish. In fact, these methods of coping may now be causing pain and suffering. In some cases, there is a lack of skill or ability to deal with the stressors being experienced, they are simply too overwhelming for right now. I am adept at recognizing what a client needs and creating a plan to make that happen. I cultivate an environment of awareness by guiding clients to tune into their beliefs, emotions, and body sensations and learn more about their internal states. With awareness comes an ability to freely choose how to act and react to life. Feelings have often become a thing to be feared rather than an important sense of information. With my support clients recognize that feelings are not bigger than them. It is profound to have a nurturing space to talk about these things, perhaps for the first time, which can offer great relief to share burdens with a caring person. I believe my clients are doing the best that they can and with my expertise and support they will learn and grow and have lives worth living. Furthermore, I enjoy educating my clients how their biology and parts of the brain can influence their success and obstacles. Together we can work to rewire the brain for the better.
