About Me
Lynell W Cooper, BA, MSW, LCSW, BIP-SF is a dedicated advocate for social justice, bringing over 20 years of experience in social services through direct practice, leadership, and education. She serves as an Assistant Professor in the Phylis Lan Lin Department of Social Work at the University of Indianapolis, where she is committed to shaping the next generation of social workers with a focus on ethical leadership, advocacy, and trauma-informed care. In addition to her full-time faculty role, Lynell is an Associate Adjunct Professor at Indiana University, her alma mater, where she teaches graduate courses in mental health and addictions. She is also a doctoral student at the University of Kentucky, advancing her expertise in research and practice related to social work, equity, and systemic change. She is the Founder and CEO of Rose Project Counseling & Consulting, LLC, a pioneering organization dedicated to family preservation, domestic violence intervention, and community empowerment. Through prevention and intervention programs, Lynell fosters safe, equitable environments where individuals and families can thrive, free from abuse and systemic barriers. With licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Senior Facilitator for the Batterers Intervention Program, and Victim Advocate, Lynell specializes in trauma recovery, abuse intervention, and child welfare advocacy. She mentors MSW students, concentrating on Children, Families, and communities, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to drive meaningful change. Guided by the principle, “Follow the Golden Rule and live a life of integrity,” Lynell is unwavering in her commitment to social equity, resilience, and restorative justice. She remains a force for transformative change, bridging academic rigor with community-based solutions to uplift those most in need.
