Marcella Galizia

About Me

I'm highly effective working with adults who have experienced trauma. I also have advanced training to work with children, adolescents, and families. My trauma informed and compassion focused approach aims to teach you and your children how to be open to and tolerate painful feelings, as well as develop self-understanding and inner wisdom to know how to deal with life's challenges. This is particularly helpful to adults or children who have personal struggles linked to shame and self-criticism and those who have experienced childhood trauma or tragedy in life. I specializes in work with traumatized children, youth, and families and I have coordinated a child and youth sexual abuse treatment program in Calgary, Alberta. Along with EMDR for Children & Youth, I also offer my young clients a creative approach using play-based, sandtray, and expressive art methods.
