About Me
I am currently practicing virtually and licensed in Maryland and Michigan. I use knowledge I’ve gained in my almost 20 years as a therapist to inform my practice. I balance spontaneity and intuition with sound theory and clinical practice. Although I love getting to know my clients, my goal is to empower them with skills and resources to get OUT of therapy. I teach coping strategies in session that people can incorporate into their daily lives. I tend to work at a deeper level, looking underneath feelings to see what might be causing them. We identify and challenge any negative false beliefs so the person can start to view themselves in a positive light. I use EMDR to engage the body and help kickstart the brain’s natural healing process. I love to find creative interventions to problems—ones that are tailored specifically to each person. My approach is kind while also challenging people to examine thoughts/feelings/behaviors that keep them stuck. Therapy is an art, and it looks a little different with every client I see. My personality is part old soul and part humorist, so we can go deep and also laugh (when appropriate). I consider it a privilege to do this work.
