About Me

I am originally from Colombia and came to the United States 24 years ago. I understand the challenges of making changes in life. I have experienced firsthand the complexity of the acculturation process as an immigrant, which drove me to redefine my identity and transition careers. I have a bicultural marriage and I am a mother of three, which gives me awareness of the challenges of marital relationships and parenting. This knowledge, my education, and my experience in the field, have allowed me to help others on their journey.

Education & Experience

I am bilingual in Spanish and hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, with a focus on Latino culture. I am culturally competent and have experience working with diverse communities, including individuals with varying political, spiritual, and gender orientations. I am a certified EMDR therapist specializing in transgenerational trauma, which involves healing the emotional and psychological burdens passed down through generations. This type of trauma can deeply affect one's sense of identity, often leading to anxiety, depression, or a sense of being stuck. By exploring and addressing these inherited patterns, I empower clients to break free from long-standing cycles, rediscover their true selves, and align with their values, resulting in significant reductions in anxiety and depression. Additionally, I support immigrant parents in understanding and reconnecting with their children. My experience includes three years working at a domestic violence agency, where I supported survivors of abuse.
