About Me

My approach combines a bottom-up approach (somatic therapy) with top-down (talk) therapy. We’ll work together to help you restore your sense of connection to your brain and body, so you can feel more like yourself. I specialize in addictions and trauma, and I have a passion for working with individuals who are recovering from addiction and those who grew up around addictive and/or mentally ill family members. I also specialize in grief and loss; it’s a process we all go through, yet our society avoids talking about it. Since trauma affects us psychologically and physically, it's necessary to treat both the mind and the body. I'm trained (certified) in brain/body therapies including: EMDR, Brainspotting, and NARM. These modalities are highly effective in reducing symptoms like anxiety, panic and depression. Using a relational approach, and Somatic Psychotherapy, we take time to explore what's happening with you internally (in your nervous system) so you can learn how to stay calm and "regulated" when you feel triggered. I have found that the majority of my clients benefit from a combination of somatically informed trauma work and group therapy, and I offer four online process groups in my practice. My individual clients have the option to choose virtual or in person sessions.
