About Me

My name is Mark, known by many family, friends and clients as Batman (Dark Knight). I am now in my 26th year of walking with others through the weeds of life as well as deepest of pain and suffering from sadness, loss and grief, reality of past trauma effecting everyday life, intrusive effects of depression/anxiety/ low self-worth, landmines from chronic illness/pain, relational upheaval and the many forms of adapting to avoid it all through substance use/addiction. My personal and professional experience with much of this list has fuel my appetite to understand the inner workings of challenges and learn tried and true ways (skills, strategies and perception) to navigate whatever the challenge.

Education & Experience

My 26+ years of experience coupled with strategic continuing education has evolved into an integrative approach for trauma utilizing Compassionate Inquiry, EMDR, Internal Family Systems and The Body Keeps the Score. For Family/Couples/parenting built on Gottman and Dr. G. Neufeld. For substance use/addiction with Structured Relapse Prevention and Motivational Interviewing plus many more underpinned by Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) integrated with research from Dr. Brene Brown, Dr. Gabor Mate, Dr. Dan Siegel, Dr. Bessel van der Kolk , etc. Additionally, I have real-life experience applying behavioural coping strategies with those physically and mentally challenged and cultivated many other areas such as Chronic Illness/Pain, ADHD, etc.
