About Me

Marquita (she/her) brings a wealth of therapeutic expertise honed over 17 years in the field, complemented by a steadfast commitment to feminist principles. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ego States informed approaches, and affirming Transgender mental health care. Licensed to provide therapy in Pennsylvania (in-office and virtually), Delaware (virtually), and Idaho (virtually), Marquita's approach is grounded in compassion, empathy, and equality. Her professional journey includes serving on the Continuing Education Committee of the Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Work (PSCSW) and as the Executive Director at the Therapy Center of Philadelphia (TCP). In this role, she has integrated her feminist lens into the center's mission, advocating for affirming mental health care that respects and validates individuals from all walks of life, especially those from marginalized communities. Beyond her professional pursuits, Marquita cherishes her roles as a wife and mother to two wonderful children, as well as their beloved cat and two dogs. This blend of personal experiences and professional dedication creates a unique perspective that shapes her approach to therapy, grounding it in a deep understanding of the human experience.
