About Me

Hello! I am a cis-gendered female, daughter of immigrant salvadoreño parents, currently able-bodied, a lifelong learner, and a dedicated EMDR-trained psychotherapist. I am passionate about supporting mothers in reclaiming their bodies as their own, free from external and internal judgments and expectations. I will help you move toward the version of yourself that is life-giving. I will assist you in reconnecting to the part of you that knows you are worthy of experiencing joy and connection just as you are, all while enhancing your parenting skills so your daughter feels empowered by this new narrative and has a chance to live a more liberating life. It is my conviction that your Spirit heals you. Meaning, I acknowledge the spirit given to us by the Creator to move us toward healing. This is a part of each one of us regardless of the distressing life experiences we’ve undergone or how broken we may believe or have been told we are. I embrace a non-pathologizing, culturally affirming, womanist/mujerista, and liberation-based psychology model of healing. My approach draws from integrative evidence-based modalities such as EMDR (attachment-focused, somatic psychology), parts work (structural dissociation and internal family systems), narrative therapy (re-authoring your story), and others as necessary for your specific needs. I advocate for body liberation and the Health at Every Size (HAES) paradigm, while incorporating mindfulness practices, attuned, intuitive, and/or practical eating, and the wisdom of my ancestors and chosen ancestors who guide my values.

Education & Experience

Graduated with a master’s in Counseling/Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy in 2013. I have completed IFS-informed training and workshops to incorporate EMDR and parts work in eating disorder and trauma healing. I completed eating disorder coursework with the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) in 2021 and completed EMDR training in April 2022. I am currently working toward both EMDR and Eating Disorder Specialist certifications while focusing my practice on mothers and women.
