About Me
Matea Kosar (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist specializing in trauma, PTSD, and reproductive mental health. She provides EMDR therapy to adults impacted by single-incident and complex trauma, including refugees, immigrants, war survivors, and individuals affected by interpersonal violence, displacement, and loss. Matea also specializes in women’s reproductive mental health, including perinatal and postpartum mental health, infertility, and pregnancy and infant loss. Her work integrates EMDR with attachment-based and strengths-focused approaches to support nervous system regulation, emotional integration, and healing. Her work is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and culturally responsive. Drawing on both clinical training and lived experience as a war survivor, and immigrant, Matea offers a compassionate and grounded approach to EMDR therapy. She is EMDRIA Certified and known for her warm, collaborative, and attuned therapeutic style, creating a safe and respectful space for clients to process trauma at their own pace.
