Education & Experience
He has worked in community-based and clinical settings as a behavioral and trauma therapist. He works with teenagers and adults. Before coming to Peaceful Mind, he worked for over 5 years in a community mental health setting. Matthew has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Somatic Attachment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (SAFE EMDR) trauma therapy. He is certified in EMDR and training to become a consultant for others seeking their certification. He believes that there is a huge spectrum of what can be considered trauma or adverse life events, from childhood disappointments to natural disasters, to exposure to violence, to severe physical or sexual abuse. Matthew has helped people over the entire spectrum find healing in moving beyond the devastating symptoms of trauma to living a more healthy, fulfilling and liberating life.
