Dr. Nancy Barrett Chickerneo Ph.D., LCPC, LPC -PhD in Art Therapy, MA Religious Studies. -Therapist and Educational Services Director, Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center-20 years. -Adler School of Professional Counseling-Adj. Professor, The Use of Art Therapy with Addictive Populations 10 Years. Wrote the Textbook used. -Designed and facilitated an Art Therapy Program at The Share Program Rehab for Chemically Dependent clients-5 years. -Worked at Private Counseling Centers, during the last 15 years in private practice including, Intermission Counseling, Margo Tirado MA, LCPC & Assoc. Dr. Chickerneo has created a therapy, either lasting one day or worked through in agreed upon chunks of time over several days, which combines EMDR, Inner-Child Healing, Art Therapy and Spirituality. Clients move from a posture of powerlessness to a position of hope, from feeling unloved to knowing that they are worthy! She helps her clients find spiritual healing, emotional freedom and a reckoning of the “old self” with a new feeling of who they are at core! Nancy is also the author of the textbook Portraits of Spirituality in Recovery (1993) and the book, Woman Spirit Awakening: Growing into the Fullness of Who You Are! (2008). She was Director and Founder of the non-profit organization SPA Sisters: Spirit, Place and Authentic Self, for 12 years, providing retreats and groups in for women in nature inviting personal and spiritual growth for new insights and discoveries!
