About Me

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and EMDR therapist with a passion for supporting individuals through healing, growth, and meaningful change. I am a mother of two and originally Persian, having grown up in Toronto, Canada. Over the past 16 years, I have lived in six different countries, an experience that has deeply shaped my worldview. My personal and cultural experiences deeply inform my work and allow me to approach therapy with sensitivity, curiosity, and respect for each client’s unique story. I am especially passionate about mental health and trauma-informed care, and I strive to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. I use EMDR therapy to help clients process difficult experiences, reduce emotional distress, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. My approach is compassionate, grounded, and client-centred. I believe healing occurs when individuals are met with empathy and given the tools to reconnect with their inner strengths and resilience. I am committed to ongoing learning and professional development to ensure ethical, effective, and culturally responsive care.

Education & Experience

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and bring a strong foundation in trauma-informed and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and integrate it effectively in my work with clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, and attachment-related challenges. My training in trauma sensitive yoga enhances my ability to incorporate body awareness and mindfulness into the therapeutic process. In addition, I have completed Level 1 in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy which informs my work with couples around communication, emotional connection, and conflict resolution. Furthermore, I have received training in working with neurodivergent populations, including ADHD and autism spectrum presentations to better support emotional regulation, executive functioning, and self-acceptance. My clinical experience includes working with individuals presenting with depression, anxiety, trauma, and both active and passive suicidal ideation, as well as relationship and attachment difficulties. I also place strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity and awareness, ensuring that therapeutic interventions are adapted to each client’s unique cultural, spiritual, and social context. I am skilled in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and developing collaborative safety plans to support clients experiencing acute distress or suicidal ideation.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

I work as a community-based therapist and have experience supporting individuals across diverse populations, age groups, and complex mental health concerns. My work has included addressing trauma, attachment-related difficulties, relational challenges, mood disorders and the impacts of adversity across the lifespan. In addition to my clinical work, I volunteer with a local domestic violence shelter, which further informs my trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approach.
