About Me
Life satisfaction is most closely correlated to the quality of relationships you have with others & most importantly, the quality of relationship you have with yourself. These can both be improved by better understanding your past & adapting how you respond in the present. We will practice new ways of experiencing difficult emotions to make them more manageable & less threatening. We will better understand the stories you hold of who you ARE, who you SHOULD be, & how these formed over time which results in increased self-understanding, self-compassion, & freedom. I use combination of IFS, EMDR, Mindfulness & psychodynamic principles to help you better understand yourself & why you experience the feelings you do. In time, this will move you more closely to a life that is centered on your own contentment & purpose. My style is influenced by Rilke, Maya Angelou, Thich Nhat Hanh, Mary Oliver, & Ram Dass. How you feel toward your therapist is the 2nd most important aspect of realizing positive change (the 1st is YOUR motivation to change). One of the greatest gifts I have is helping people feel comfortable. This occurs due to my willingness to remain open & honest about myself, my feelings, & things I don't know. I look forward to learning about you.
