About Me

Over the past ten years of working as a licensed therapist, I have gained experience working with both perpetrators and survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. I am in the business of helping build a sense of hope and identity, regardless of your religion, gender, sexual orientation, or political beliefs. My clients have a history of trauma, anxiety, depression, or significant life changes including school, divorce, and employment. I can assist with helping you identify treatment goals that are solution-focused, attend to the overall improvement of your daily functioning, and focus on supporting both complex and or single event trauma.

Education & Experience

I hold a master’s degree in Science Education - Human Services from the University of Wisconsin- Platteville. The bulk of my coursework included counseling theory, professional ethics, contemporary issues in substance abuse counseling, family and couples counseling, psychopharmacology, assessment and diagnosis, as well as providing group and individual counseling for voluntary and involuntary clients ages 8 to 87. I have completed a year long practicum at an outpatient, family counseling clinic followed by an additional 3,000 hours of supervised practice prior to obtaining my unrestricted counseling license. My combined education and experience has allowed me to obtain licensure in Substance Abuse Counseling (SAC) in 2013 and Professional Counseling (LPC) in 2015 in the State of Wisconsin. As of October, 2021, I have obtained my Mental Health Counseling License (LMHC) in the state of Washington and continue to offer telehealth services in both states. Since completing all necessary coursework as part of my graduate and licensing with the State of Wisconsin, I have completed EMDR Basic Training Course (6/2020) as well as specialized trauma-focused training that includes Ego State Therapy, Recent Events EMDR Protocol, and the Multidimensional Inventory of Dissociation (MID) assessment and treatment planning. Additionally, I have completed formal training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for individual clients, Motivational Interviewing, and the assessment and treatment of sexual abusers. As of July, 2023, I have become a certified EMDR provider. As of September 2024, I have begun a six month training program which will allow me to obtain a Level I Trauma Certificate through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.
