About Me

My name is Rana and I’m a trauma therapist with a deep commitment to supporting those who feel unseen, unsupported and overburdened by cultural, familial, and societal expectations. I know that navigating the push and pull of cultural identity while living in a society that often invalidates our experiences can feel isolating and overwhelming. Through my work, I’ve witnessed the weight of these experiences and the resilience required to carry them. I create a compassionate, strength based and trauma-informed space where we can explore your story, challenge the expectations and patterns that no longer serve you, and heal from the impact of these burdens. I often work with clients who have been expected to put their needs aside to care for those around them and find themselves left grappling with guilt, exhaustion or feeling stuck. Together, we’ll focus on owning your voice, rediscovering your identity, and building a life that feels authentic, fulfilling, free of the impact of trauma and aligned with who you are and who you want to be. You deserve healing, joy, and a space where you are truly seen—and I’m here to walk that path with you.

Education & Experience

I received my Masters degree from Southern Methodist University with an emphasis on advanced sexuality and LGBTQIA+ affirmative studies. My professional journey includes serving as a clinical program director in the sex trafficking field, working as a crisis response specialist for a local crisis line and mobile crisis team, and serving as a trauma therapist at an LGBTQIA+ affirming organization. These experiences have shaped my understanding of systemic barriers, complex trauma, and the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities. I specialize in working with people of color, first-generation immigrants, LGBTQIA+ individuals, complex trauma and individuals who have experienced a great deal of disappointment and hurt in their life—those who have had to grow up too fast, often carrying the emotional and practical burdens of their families.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

I currently serve as a board member for the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals.
