About Me

I am a passionate and compassionate professional, driven of helping more people live a better and happier life everyday. I am a licensed, trained , experienced and an accredited social worker / psychotherapist. In August 2019, I completed EMDR training 36 CE offered by Roy Kiessling , LISW in Toronto and was impressed by the EMDR efficiency treatment to help people recover from trauma and other distressing and painful life experiences . Working independently and a service provider with Homewood Health company, I helped more than 50 clients to feel better using EMDR therapy . In September 2020, I decided to become a certified EMDR therapist. A professional EMDRIA Consultant, Mrs. Dominique D'Anjou supervised me for 20 hours of consultation and have been advised to take a 42 hours EMDR Refresher online course presented by Andrew Seubert, LMHC, NCC, - Attachment - Dissociation. I have attended multiple advanced EMDR trainings in areas such as the trauma triangle, dissociation and EMDR for Anxiety and Depression: Basic Modifications, EMDR Therapy and the treatment of Substance and Behavioral Addictions, Working with Parts in Dissociative Disorders, Treating Preverbal Trauma in Children and Adults with EMDR, The progressive approach: An introductory guide for EMDR therapists.

Education & Experience

As an MSW , RSW , I come with lot of extensive experience in helping people using different approaches such as CBT, psychoeducation, EFT, DBT, and brief counseling solution centered . Speaking three fluent languages (English, French and Arabic) allowed me to serve different age groups and multicultural communities . Before graduating as an MSW, I excelled in working with parents, teachers and children (who have been bullied, who bully and the bystanders )to change the school culture and to promote equity and inclusion in the school environment. I also worked with teenagers, a vulnerable group, who were struggling with trouble issues in their homes and at schools. I offered lot of trainings and workshops to students in universities and colleges to sensitize them about violence and the systemic issues that contribute to a rape culture and shared tools with them to get out of an abusive situations . My counselling approaches were based on working with each person's capacity by respecting the individual differences, experiences and values. Integrating my approaches in the AIP model and the basic protocol of Francine Shapiro , increased my confidence and made me feel the urge to keep learning and growing more and more in this field .

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

I volunteer a lot in the community by offering my services for free to families who can't afford to pay for a therapist and educating families how to intervene with their children if the children are bullied in the schools . I am also a board member in non for profit organizations .
