About Me
I’m a psychologist who helps adults find relief from anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and compulsive patterns that feel hard to break. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply attuned to your unique story. Together, we’ll work to uncover the roots of your distress while building practical tools for lasting change. I integrate EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and mindfulness to help you process painful experiences, strengthen self-understanding, and move toward a more grounded, confident sense of self. I’m licensed in New York and New Jersey and offer therapy in both English and Spanish. Growing up in a bicultural, bilingual (Spanish-speaking) home profoundly shaped how I see the world. It gave me a deep appreciation for difference and resilience—and also an intimate understanding of what it’s like to navigate belonging, identity conflicts, and intergenerational tensions around values and traditions. These experiences fuel my passion for helping others make sense of their own histories and cultivate inner balance and self-acceptance. When I’m not working, you can usually find me behind a drum set, lost in a good documentary, tending my garden, exploring new recipes, or reading about people who have inspired meaningful change in the world.
Education & Experience
My background in psychology is both broad and deeply rooted in a genuine passion for helping people heal and grow. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from St. John’s University, along with earlier degrees in psychology from George Mason University and James Madison University. Later, I completed advanced postgraduate training in Psychoanalysis at New York University, which deepened my understanding of the complex ways our past shapes our present. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples—each facing their own experiences of trauma, anxiety, and depression. My work has always been grounded in respect for diversity; I’ve worked with people from a wide range of cultural, racial, gender, sexual, and religious backgrounds, as well as across different life circumstances and social identities. My approach is integrative and tailored to each person. I draw from EMDR, psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy, CBT, and mindfulness-based practices to help clients process distressing experiences, find emotional balance, and strengthen their capacity for self-compassion and resilience. I hold myself to high ethical standards and stay committed to ongoing professional development, ensuring that my practice remains informed, current, and responsive to each person’s needs.
