I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families impacted by traumatic events. I treasure my career and have worked in the counseling profession for 30 years. I embrace a strength-based and compassion-oriented counseling model. The use of EMDR has assisted people of all ages to heal from the impact of traumatic stress. I also integrate evidence-based counseling practices into direct care such as mindfulness based cognitive coping skills, dialectical behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I place great importance on an integrative model of counseling which promotes healing of mind, body, and spirit. My practice is also a safe and affirmative place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex persons and their families and support systems. Social Justice Counseling is also used to assist those who desire to increase self-advocacy skills.
