Preferred Name: Sabrina
About Me
I specialize in working with professionals and adult students who experience burnout, vicarious trauma and/or compassion fatigue as a result of high demand programs or work environments and secondary traumatic stress or workplace bullying. Often times my clients identify as high achievers, perfectionists, or with people-pleasing. Almost always there is some level of anxiety and a struggle with effectively setting boundaries. Also they may have difficulties managing their work due to a underlying concerns with ADHD, trauma, low self-esteem, a mood disorder or challenging core beliefs. Whatever the issue, the overall goal is to find greater work/life balance and to recover motivation and energy to enjoy life more. I have been burned out and traumatized by my work before. It is possible to recover and feel empowered.
Education & Experience
I completed a BA in Psychology and my Masters in Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill. I own and provide services through Compassionate Voice Counseling where I integrate Mindful Self-Compassion, EMDR and other modalities into my work helping caring professionals heal from traumatic stress. Previous to becoming a licenced clinical social work therapist I worked for 10 years providing in-home and community services to individuals with disabilities looking for work, adolescents with severe mental illness that kept them out of school, and teens and parents who were involved in the justice system.
