About Me
Hi y’all! My name is Sammy Weakley and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW.) I was born and raised in west Tennessee just north of Memphis. At a baseline, I practice from a person-centered approach; I am here to support and guide clients to their full potential rather than give direct answers. Usually, you know what's best for you, and I'm here to offer the tools and nonjudgmental environment to find that. A lot of my favorite coping skills involve mindfulness and meditation as well as ways to decatastrophize when feeling overwhelmed. If I ask a client to complete homework, it will usually incorporate these tools. I value empathy, compassion, and understanding in my personal life as well as in my practice as a therapist. Many of us never experienced these behaviors growing up, and they are essential for healing in the therapeutic relationship. Everything that we are exposed to in our lives, for better or worse, shapes who we become. Understanding this can help us learn more about ourselves and provides us with the capacity to heal. Outside of being a psychotherapist, I like to spend time in nature and taking in the beauty of Colorado. My favorite things to do are hike, travel, and hang out with my dogs Lady Bird and Roosevelt!

I received my Master’s in Social Work from University of Texas at Arlington.
