About Me
I help people like you better understand and manage their anxiety, depression, panic, stress responses, feelings of loss and helplessness, to learn to take the negative power out of current or past traumatic experiences(through use of EMDR) and find ways to take back control in their lives. We will work together to address your concerns, explore ways to achieve better control and self confidence in your ability to cope with any life uncertainty. We will work together to gain a better understanding of how emotions and our thoughts about ourselves and our emotions impact how we respond to situations we are faced with daily. We will work together, utilizing the skills of my years of working with others struggling with anxiety, depression, loss and helplessness, to help you find the balance in your life and in improving relationships with others that you seek. Life does not come with a "HOW TO DO..." manual, though sometimes we wish it did. Today life is very involved and stressful for many of us, especially through this time of social isolation/physical distancing due to COVID19. You are not alone in trying to manage the pace and demands on a person to meet the needs of ourselves and others in our lives while worrying about health issues. This can lead to depression, increased anxiety, panic symptoms, despair, discouragement all which can be compounded by grief and losses(persons and things) and past traumas. We will work together to develop healthier coping skills (such as mindfulness) that can be helpful in finding better “new normal” routines to improve sleep, communication, decrease negative patterns of substance abuse or eating habits. We can get through this time together, stronger than before. Our goal together is to develop your own personal "HOW TO …." manual that makes sense to you and will be used.
