About Me
I grew up in the DC area and have lived in Colorado since 2015. I share a life with my husband, daughter, and boxer dog in Highlands Ranch. I am a practicing Christian and I respect other faiths/beliefs, including if you would prefer not to have faith incorporated into our work together. I have many interests, including traveling (25 countries and counting) and learning about other cultures, writing, music, food, being active, enjoying nature, and exploring new ways for personal healing and growth. I am in my 40's, which I believe is an ideal age to walk along side you on your therapeutic journey. Helping people face the hidden and heal is perhaps my biggest purpose in life. My hope is that honest and compassionate reflection (like sitting by still waters) can be the starting point of our journey together that brings healing and is why I named my private practice, Healing Waters Counseling.
Education & Experience
I have been in a counselor role since 2004, starting as a psychiatric rehabilitation counselor. I completed my bachelors degree in psychology in 2008 and my Masters in Pastoral Counseling in 2012. My Masters Degree and Masters level classes are equivalent to a Mental Health Counseling degree with additional focus and training on incorporating an individual's faith into the healing process. I am licensed as a licensed professional counselor in 2018. I am trained and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), providing EMDR to my client's since 2018.
