About Me

Sharon Fisher, M.S.S., L.C.S.W., B.C.D. is a Readjustment Counselor at the Bucks County Vet Center in Bristol, PA, and has been providing trauma informed therapy for Veterans and their families through the VA since 2009. She also runs Conscious Choices Counseling, a private practice in Philadelphia, PA. where she specializes in trauma therapy, mood disorders, LGBTQI+ concerns, and integrative body-mind therapies. Since graduating in 1996 from Bryn Mawr College School of Social Work with a Masters in Social Service, Sharon has worked in numerous non-profit agencies focusing on individual, group, family and couple’s therapy ranging from helping survivors of domestic violence, to assisting recent immigrants in adjusting to living in the United States, to hospice social work, empowering at risk youth, and serving elderly Jewish populations. Prior to her career in social work, Sharon Fisher earned a Masters in International Communication at American University and ran her own consulting company designing and presenting cross-cultural training programs and seminars, taught English as a Second Language and Japanese Language classes, and assisted families in transition across professional cultural environments. Sharon is Certified in EMDR and is currently in the process of becoming a Certified EMDR Consultant through a collaborative initiative of the Veterans Administration and EMDRIA. She has completed Level One in IFS through a grant offered through the Vet Centers, has taken several advanced classes in IFS and EMDR. With a deep interest in how trauma impacts individuals, couples, and groups, is carried somatically within the body, within social systems, and across generations, she is also certified in Imago Therapy, Rubenfeld Synergy, and has been studying Native American wisdom traditions and healing for the past 14 years. In her spare time she is an active member of a choir and an improv music group, Music for People, that heals the soul through creatively sharing music in the moment.

Graduated from Bryn Mawr College of Social Work and Social Research with M.S.S. in 1996; Masters in Cross Cultural Communication from American University in 1983. Certified Imago Therapist. Certified EMDR Therapist, Certified Rubenfeld Synergist. Board Certified Diplomat, Level One Internal Family Systems Therapist.
