About Me

Founder of Journey Forward ~ Somatic Therapy, Sheli Garcia Aguirre, M.S. LMFT, is a bilingual licensed therapist, trauma specialist, and entrepreneur dedicated to helping high-achieving professionals of color reclaim peace, purpose, and power. With nearly two decades in mental health and social services, Sheli blends Somatic CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness to support clients navigating anxiety, burnout, and trauma. Her clinical work is science-backed, culturally grounded, and always delivered with soul. As a group practice owner, Sheli leads a growing team of therapists with a bold vision: to provide inclusive, embodied care that meets real-world stressors head-on. She also trains interns, mentors professionals, and offers organizational wellness consulting rooted in professional resilience. Outside the therapy room, Sheli is a mom of two incredible kids (plus a cat named Nalah and a Goldendoodle named Simba), a co-author of Libertad with Forward-Facing, and a creator of somatic poetry and self-regulation resources. You’ll find her dancing, dreaming up retreats, and sharing healing tools on TikTok @bodyful.therapist. Whether you’re a client, collaborator, or community member — Sheli’s mission is simple: to help you journey forward with courage, clarity, and compassion.
