About Me

Sonia is a Registered Psychotherapist with a background in community hospices, working with individuals of all ages, and families, as they navigate the challenges of illness, caregiving, death, bereavement and grief. She is experienced in supporting people from many different cultures, backgrounds and identities; as well as with people experiencing complicated and traumatic grief. Sonia supports clients with warmth and authenticity, combining these with her knowledge and skills to help clients navigate through personal challenges. She works collaboratively with clients to find practical strategies to help them move forward in their own unique way. Sonia uses a variety of therapeutic modalities in her work, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, as well as existential, attachment, somatic and mindfulness based therapies.
