Sonia's mission is to live and lead with integrity. Her core values reflect being a curious, creative and compassionate trauma-informed psychotherapist. Sonia's hope is to guide people on their self-healing journey, to build upon their resources, exploring their survival strategies and celebrating their unique strengths, to create space and warmth to grow.
Education & Experience
Sonia has worked in non-government agencies within a recovery-orientated mental health framework for over 15 years, from a broad range of experiences such as supporting adults; and youth and children in early intervention mental health; and mental health carers with psychoeducation and counselling. New to Private Practice in 2023, after completing a Bachelor of Behavioural Science(Psychology) in 2014, and a Master of Social Work (Professional Qualifying) in 2023. Sonia has also undertaken further professional development with EMDR for Kids, EMDR for Addictions and in the FLASH Technique. Sonia is currently training in Internal Family Systems, to become IFS-informed by 2024.
