About Me
I love working with children and their caregivers. I find it exciting, rewarding and a huge privilege to walk alongside families in some of their most difficult times. I specialize in helping children birth to 17 heal from trauma, life transitions, anxiety and depression. Part of helping children heal from trauma means also providing their caregivers with support, encouragement and strategies in order to confidently help their child navigate whatever life brings. Clients describe my style as warm, approachable, non-judgmental, and playful! I like to laugh (a lot), and I believe that while therapy doesn’t always ‘feel’ good, it doesn’t have to be stuffy or serious.
Education & Experience
Master of Social Work - University of North Carolina at Charlotte Bachelor of Social Work - University of North Carolina Wilmington I am extensively trained and rostered with the NC Child Treatment Program in both Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). For the past 10 years I have treated children and their families in some capacity ranging from homelessness, intimate partner violence, child abuse and neglect, and a variety of other traumatic experiences.
