About Me
I am married for almost 30 years and the mother of three children. Two grown daughters and one 10 year old boy whom we adopted from foster care. I live in small town in Northern Michigan where we have access to wonderful nature trails, beautiful lakes and rivers and great seasonal changes. I live just below the famed Mackinaw Bridge. I have lived in Northern Michigan since I was 8 years old. I am active with my children in the school activities and love the summers camping and spending time with my family.
Education & Experience
I am licensed through the State of Michigan. I received my Masters of Social Work degree from Grand Valley State University in 2013. I received my undergraduate degree from Spring Arbor University. I have been employed with Health Department of Northwest Michigan in the Mancelona School Wellness Program. I work with students ages 5-10. I have providing social work services in my community for over 20 years. I am trained in using ASSIST strategies for suicide prevention. I am currently trained in EMDR and TF-CBT and Certified in PCIT therapy.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am a volunteer Foster Care GROW co trainer which provides education for new foster parents during their licensure. I have completed the ASSIST suicide prevention training. I am part of the PCIT International Organization, EMDRIA and TF-CBT group.
