About Me

Have you ever felt that low moods, intrusive thoughts, and poor sleep patterns interfered with your ability to become as successful as you want to be in your life? Or have you ever thought about how to avoid difficult feelings that don't seem to escape you? Hi! I am Stephanie Harris, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and look forward to getting to know you. My background is in chemical dependency training at state and local hospitals where I worked at various levels of inpatient, outpatient, detox, and intensive outpatient care and witnessed the full scope of clients from those who are very early in recovery to those with sustained recovery and ending at a community mental health facility where I supported individuals in transitioning to the community on medication assisted treatment out of the Department of Corrections. I was trained as a sexual assault crisis advocate and worked supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence transitioning out of toxic patterns of narcissistic abuse. Over the past three years, I was employed by a non-profit agency that served children in the community who had experienced complex trauma. I have worked with children who have mood disorders, attachment disorders, and conduct disorders. I have been trained in Dialectical Behavior Training (DBT), evidenced based treatment for personality disorders. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my English Labrador Retriever Leo.
