About Me

Social work is a second career that developed from medical trauma that left me legally blind. As a child of a Holocaust survivor, I was particularly interested in working with trauma. I began working at a community mental health clinic right out of graduate school. Many of the clients were dealing with some form of trauma in their lives. Two months after I started, we watched the horror of 9/11 unfold. I felt ill-equipped to help people who had been in lower Manhattan that morning or who had lost loved ones when the towers came down. There was no protocol to follow, no one to ask. Being trained as an EMDR therapist has brought me full circle. I am now certified to provide therapy through the World Trade Center Project and provide EMDR therapy to 9/11 responders and survivors. I provide EMDR therapy to many of my clients, including children, who struggle with CPTSD, trauma, and attachment issues. I work with children, adolescents, and adults and provide play, individual, parenting, couples, and family therapy. I strongly believe in a mind-body connection, and help my clients strengthen their emotional well-being. I believe that clients who feel empowered, learn coping skills, and gain insight will achieve physical and emotional strength and wellness.
