About Me
Susan McGowan, BSW, MSW, RCSW Registered Clinical Social Worker (AB) and RSW (ON, NB) For over 25 years, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults living with stress, depression, anxiety, anger, addictions and trauma. I am interested in helping people build upon their own strengths to better understand, manage and express their emotions, thoughts and behaviours. I will help you build and develop new skills to meet your life goals. If you're not sure what your goals are, I can help you with that too. People value my genuine nature and my ability to build strong working relationships. Years of professional practice and specialized training in Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Hope Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) allow me to assist you to live your best life. I believe that self-compassion is the greatest gift that we can give ourselves. I strive to treat everyone with empathy, respect, and kindness. I have the skills necessary to work with people who have experienced trauma including CAF Members, Veterans, First Responders and their families, and First Nations, Inuit, and Metis people.
