About Me

Ms. Grimm completed her Master’s and Psy. D therapy practica at Allendale Association and Omni Youth Services where she provided individual and family therapy, co-facilitated groups for adolescents and adults, mentored adolescent girls, and offered crisis intervention. Her Psy. D. diagnostic practicum was completed at North Shore Wellness Center where she conducted psychological testing and assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. Ms. Grimm facilitates individual, group, family, and couples therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has over 30 years experience working with children and families. Her areas of expertise include developmental delays, learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders, autism spectrum disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, school refusal, social skills, grief, parenting, family relationships, dual diagnosis, anger management and behavioral issues. In addition, Ms. Grimm conducts psychological and neuropsychological testing under the supervision of a clinical psychologist. Ms. Grimm also provides parent education classes, psychoeducational consulting, and professional development. Ms. Grimm is a trainer for several evidenced-based behavioral health interventions that may be utilized in private practice and the school setting. Ms. Grimm is currently training to be a certified yoga instructor and looks forward to teaching yoga classes for children and adults at Dragonfly Counseling and Wellness, LLC upon completion of her certification. She is interested in offering a variety of hatha, restorative, and yin yoga, as well as specialty classes for anxiety, depression, and relaxation. Before starting her own practice, Ms. Grimm worked as a psychoeducational consultant in various schools in Illinois and Nevis, West Indies conducting psychoeducational evaluations to determine if students were eligible for special education services. She has a strong background in the 504/IEP process that includes developing learning and behavioral strategies, accommodations, and creating goals to help students succeed. Ms. Grimm has facilitated psychoeducational groups in schools and private practice focusing on grief, anger management (for children, adolescents and adults), trauma, parenting, social skills, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, and girls’ issues. In addition, Ms. Grimm was a city-wide administrator with Chicago Public Schools supporting elementary and high schools with evidenced-based behavioral health interventions. Ms. Grimm was also a center director and tutor at the Reading and Language Arts Center in Ann Arbor, MI. She tutored preschool to high school children with dyslexia and other learning challenges in Orton-Gillingham phonics, reading, writing, study skills, math, ACT prep, and provided homework support. She was a therapist for Allendale Association and The Family Stress Clinic, Ltd. and a licensed clinical professional counselor and psychoeducational consultant for the Center for Psychological Services and the Counseling and Diagnostic Center of Woodfield. She was also an adjunct professor for DeVry University teaching undergraduate classes in psychology and sociology.
