Online Therapy

About Me

I have over 20 years of experience in mental, emotional, and behavioral health services, specializing in counseling clients who want to change their behavior for a more fulfilling life. As a Marriage & Family Therapist with a Masters in Addiction counseling, I rely on the partnership between my clients in therapy and me to create a space for growth, goal achievement, and internal peace. My experience gives me a unique understanding of adolescents, couples & families, Breast Cancer survivors, and clients working with schools and community systems. I focus on providing therapeutic support to adolescents and adults whose behaviors are no longer benefiting them or those around them.

Education & Experience

I was fortunate to have an internship at Kaiser in Tacoma utilizing my psychology degree and addictions certificate. I moved on to becoming the first school-based addictions counselor for a fantastic agency. After a few years of assessing and treating at-risk and transitional-aged youth and leading a Multi-Disciplinary Team, I felt that with an advanced degree I could better help youth and families. I became a student at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, receiving my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. During my practicum, I had the opportunity to be involved in a study with Purdue University and the Washington State Division of Alcohol and Substance abuse. The study was to assess and provide training for a Solution Oriented Model to Chemical Dependency Professionals across the state to provide therapy to clients and their families.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

I am a board member on two statewide boards, the Washington Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT) and Washington State Community Connectors. Through service, I can give back to the groups and communities that have supported me. I help build community stabilization efforts, support voice, and choice, enhance skills and support long-term statewide endeavors enabling me to provide valuable input, encourage challenge, and support discipline for the group.
