About Me
Office in Fairbanks and serving Alaskans across our beautiful state via telehealth, Vanessa enjoys serving adolescents and adults as a trauma informed therapist. Vanessa specializes in working with teens and adults that may have issues with depression, anxiety, dissociation, and childhood or complex trauma. Vanessa supports her clients in understanding and recognizing their own inner experiences of emotions, behaviors, and thoughts and being more connected to themselves. Vanessa enjoys helping people understand the impact specific life events and conflicts may have had on their life and their ability to make new connections, insights from those past experiences to move forward and live the life they want for themselves.
Education & Experience
Vanessa is a state certified School Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Alaska. Vanessa has over 15 years experience working with youth, families, and adults in various settings such as residential mental health, outpatient community mental health, juvenile justice, child protective services, K-12 schools, and school district administration. Vanessa has training in EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Restorative Practices, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Vanessa utilizes a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach that considers addressing every aspect of her client's life, including faith. Vanessa is faith friendly and willing to incorporate aspects of faith into sessions, if that is important to her client's overall wellbeing.
