About Me

Hi, I’m Will Zarillo! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New Jersey, and I’m passionate about helping people heal from trauma, manage anxiety, and navigate life’s transitions. My approach to therapy is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs, whether you're working through past experiences, seeking relief from distressing thoughts, or striving for greater balance and meaning. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is one of the most powerful tools I use in therapy. I’m drawn to EMDR because of its ability to help people process and integrate difficult experiences in a way that feels natural and often more effective than traditional talk therapy alone. Trauma and distressing memories can keep us stuck, but EMDR works to rewire the brain’s response to these experiences, helping you move forward with greater clarity and emotional freedom. Whether you’re dealing with PTSD, anxiety, phobias, or self-doubt, EMDR can be a transformative part of the healing process. My Background & Approach: Since 2017, I have worked extensively with survivors of violence and trauma, bringing a deep understanding of resilience, recovery, and post-traumatic growth. I integrate multiple therapeutic approaches—including EMDR, CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy—and at my foundation is a narrative approach, recognizing the power of stories in shaping identity and healing. Together, can explore and reframe the narratives that influence your life, helping you move from survival to empowerment. I am a proud graduate of Rutgers University, where I am currently a doctoral candidate researching institutional betrayal and student activism against sexual violence (1970–2000). My work extends beyond the therapy room; I’ve developed Scuba Therapy and Adventure Therapy programs, blending experiential learning with healing, and designed an accredited course at Rutgers: Trauma-Informed Approaches for Higher Education Professionals. Why Work With Me? Specialized expertise in trauma recovery & EMDR therapy A collaborative, nonjudgmental approach tailored to you Deep background in advocacy, higher education & institutional trauma Outside of work, I enjoy playing piano, running (I recently completed my first marathon!), cooking new recipes, and traveling. If you’re looking for an EMDR therapist in New Jersey who values collaboration, storytelling, and personalized healing, I’d love to work with you. Reach out today to start your journey.
