Approved for 1.5 EMDRIA Credits
EMDR 2.0 is a version of the standard EMDR procedure with a number of adjustments regarding the implementation of the treatment. These adjustments are based on clinical experience with the treatment of patients with complex PTSD, and scientific research into working memory theory and the effects of working memory-loading tasks on traumatic memories. EMDR 2.0, can help the therapist improve the effectiveness of EMDR therapy. For example, what should be done if SUD does not decrease, and EMDR therapy does not work? In this teaching session, therapists learn various techniques to overcome such obstacles. This will be supported by case studies, demonstrations and video footage of sessions with real patients.
Presenters: Suzy Matthijssen, Ph.D. & Ad De Jongh, Ph.D.
