Live Webinar

Approved for 4 EMDRIA Credits

Trauma, substance use, mental illness and co-occurring disorders are a pervasive problem for many adults.  Traditional therapies can take years to help clients find relief from trauma. By integrating Sand-Process Therapy© with EMDR clients are able to express themselves through the worlds they create in the sand.  Sand-Process Therapy© is body based and extremely regulating and resourcing for clients.  The sand helps regulate the nervous system to calm the fight/flight response, this allows the therapist to install more resourcing in the preparation phase of EMDR.  For many trauma survivors providing additional resourcing can be very helpful during the desensitization phase of EMDR, it can help to keep them within their window of tolerance.

This live webinar will include a brief review of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) trauma informed approach, the Adverse Childhood Experience’s (ACEs) study, and explain the differences between PTSD and C-PTSD.  The presentation will explore EMDR’s standard protocol, and introduce Sand-Process Therapy©.
