Approved for 12 EMDRIA Credits
This workshop will focus on the basic and advanced skills Play Therapists can utilize with the EMDR protocol when working with children. Trauma, neglect, brain development, and attachment will be discussed in relation to the AIP, the EMDR Protocol, and case conceptualization. Participants will learn to adapt each phase of the protocol playfully, so it is developmentally appropriate for the child’s age. Play therapy techniques which can be used throughout the EMDR process will be discussed and demonstrated. Special attention will be given to determining the NC and PC, child-oriented resource development and preparation, and play therapy techniques to make the EMDR process effective with children. We will use didactic presentations, demonstrations, experiential exercises and case studies. This workshop is for any clinician who has completed an EMDRIA approved EMDR basic training and has had education and experience in Play Therapy.
