Approved for 12 EMDRIA Credits
The goal of this live webinar is to give therapists, who are working with couples, specific skills. EMDR is woven into the beginning movements of Emotionally Focused Therapy, EFT, so that the escalated and distressing patterns are calmed more quickly. The steps and moves of EFT, allow therapists to see the patterns of distress in terms of attachment longings and needs. EMDR gives therapists specific interventions to use in the moment when trauma is triggered and is re-experienced. The two therapies are intertwined, supporting each move of EFT, as EMDR assists clients in reducing the feelings and sensations when re-experiencing attachment trauma, allowing them to see their attachment triggers, emotions and behaviors, giving them a chance to alter their unconsciously triggered behaviors. During this workshop, information, via a power point will be presented, and supported by video. There will also be practicums, giving participants immediate opportunities to apply new skills, and receive warm yet clear and direct feedback.
