This webinar will present information on the human trauma response to man-made and natural disasters to aid in the clinical assessment of individuals exposed to and impacted by these events. Discussion of Roy Kiessling’s Processing Continuum will facilitate participants’ ability to determine what form of processing is best suited to the client’s clinical presentation, circumstances and needs. A review of EMDR Early Intervention Protocols for individuals, including EMDR PRECI developed by Jarero and Artigas 2011, Recent Traumatic Event Protocol developed by Francine Shapiro, 1995, 2001 and Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol developed by Elan Shapiro and Brurit Laub, 2008 will be presented. A detailed presentation of the eight phases of treatment in the Recent Traumatic Event Protocol will be discussed. EMDR Early Intervention Protocols for Groups will be reviewed including the EMDR Integrative Group Treatment Protocol for Adults and EMDR Integrative Group Treatment Protocol for Adolescents and Adults Living with Ongoing Traumatic Stress developed by Jarero and Artigas, 2000 and the IMMA Group Protocol developed by Laub and Bar Sade 2009.
