This program will provide an overview of how early trauma and neglect impact the brain development of a child and adolescent. In understanding these effects, participants will learn how to better employ EMDR therapy in an overall treatment plan with children and teens. Participants will be provided options to modify the 8 phases of EMDR therapy to make it more digestible in working with younger clients. Participants will also be provided with suggestions on assessment tools for determining diagnosis and targets for EMDR desensitization. Video clips and case studies will be discussed to solidify further understanding of how to utilize EMDR therapy with children and adolescents more effectively.
