Due to recent global circumstances, EMDR therapists are encountering more grievers. This live webinar is created as a response to the global market of EMDR therapists providing care and support to these patients. The goal is to introduce foundational knowledge identified by the Association of Death Education and Counseling in major categories of thanatology, which is the study of death, dying and bereavement. This will set the foundations for clinical applications of EMDR Phases 1-3 to theoretical frameworks and content areas to identify and assess targets and memories related to the following categories: dying; end-of-life-decision-making; loss, grief and mourning; assessment and intervention; traumatic death; death education. We will review and assess EMDR targets in areas in terms of these indicators: culture and socialization; religion and spirituality; historical and contemporary perspectives; life span issues; the family and larger systems and ethical and legal issues.
Presenter: Kathy Couch, LCSW
